Basava Study Centre

Basavanna was the greatest reformer of the society, who lived during twelfth century. His poetry popularly known as ‘Vachanas’ spread social awareness. Basavanna was against gender or social discrimination and also superstitions and rituals. He propagated ahimsa and condemned human and animal sacrifices. He started a public platform called ‘Anubhava Mantapa’ which welcomed men and women from all socio-economic strata of the society to discuss spiritual and mundane matters related to quotidian life. Basavanna’s philosophy has been widely accepted across the world. In order to instil Basavanna’s thoughts and ideologies in the minds of students, the Seshadripuram Educational Trust took an initiative to start Basava Study Centres in all its institutions. Accordingly, the Basava Study Centres were inaugurated in all the institutions of the Seshadripuram Educational Trust on the 23 July 2022.
